Artist Lecture: Lisa Sanditz
Wednesday, May 30, 2012
6:30pm – 8:00pm

Brooklyn, NY May 2012 - A.I.R. Gallery is pleased to announce an artist talk by Lisa Sanditz at A.I.R. Gallery on Wednesday, May 30, from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The talk will include a slide lecture followed by a question and answer period with refreshments. This event was organized by 2011-12 A.I.R. Fellow Annie Ewaskio and is her fellowship community project. This even is free and open to the public.

Sanditz is an American painter who considers the economy’s shifting impact on land use by exploring interactions between built environments and landscape. She employs saturated color, wild scale changes, imaginative perspectives, and paint’s own limitless materiality. Her paintings are bright, sophisticated and engaging images that ask us to give pause when thinking about our surroundings. A “painter’s painter,” Sanditz dexterously manipulates her medium with great, curious glee.

Lisa Sanditz has exhibited her work in solo and group shows internationally including New York, Los Angeles, Rome and Brussels. She is a 2008 recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim fellowship. Sanditz is represented by CRG Gallery in New York, where she will have a solo show early next year. She teaches at Bard College. For more information, please visit
